Just ask.
You don't need the right words. Tell us your child's age, where things get stuck, or what you're trying to figure out. Something like this is plenty:
“My daughter is 8. Math practice turns into a fight every single time. I want one thing we can try tomorrow that doesn't make both of us miserable.”
