Why I'm building Champ23
You've probably watched this happen in your own house. Your child spends a whole afternoon building something — measuring, adjusting, arguing with the design, starting over. Three hours, and nobody asked them to do any of it.
The next day you sit them down with a math worksheet that covers the same skills, and ten minutes in they're staring at the ceiling. Now you're both miserable.
I couldn't stop thinking about that gap. Not because worksheets are evil — because the building version was already working, and nobody was helping parents stay with it. Keeping it going is real work. You have to keep finding things worth doing, figure out what the work meant, and then explain to a skeptical relative that yes, this counts.
Champ23 is my attempt to carry that work for you.
It gives you a challenge you can hand your child tomorrow morning without writing a lesson plan tonight. Your child builds something, solves something, notices something. You save a photo and two lines. And when someone asks what your child is actually learning, you have an answer you can show, not just defend.
Champ23 is a small company, and I'd like it to behave like one even if it grows. So a few promises, written down where you can hold me to them:
- You stay the guide. The app suggests. You decide — which challenges, when, and whether to skip them entirely.
- No child gets compared to another. No rankings, no leaderboards, no percentiles.
- The AI never talks to your child alone.It explains what the work showed, you see everything it says, and there's no private chat between software and your child.
- Nothing is engineered to hook anyone. No streaks, no guilt pop-ups, no countdown timers on the pricing page. If your child stops for a week, nothing bad happens.
- Your child's work isn't the business model.No ads, no data selling, nothing tracked beyond what's needed to suggest the next challenge.
